Mary Poppins Pink

It’s Angel’s Birthday!

And, Mary Poppins (aka Miss Kathy) will be popping by for the festivities –

Along with her good friend, Bert (aka Mr. Ed) – bringing chalk drawings and a carpetbag full of story time surprises to share with the birthday girl – and about two dozen of her friends!

Angel, the Birthday Girl, was the center of attention – as it should be . . .

The whole house was decked out for the occasion by an super talented artist friend, Cathy McCormick, who quite outdid herself with a wall mural . . .

And chimneys with prop sweeps – as modeled by Josh, here . . .

Mary’s Jolly Holiday Hat was recreated, in numbers, in case the young ladies in attendance cared to wear one . . .

Even a carousel horse was on hand to guard over the presents.  Brynn just had to give him a little love pat!

A blustery day, to be sure, since there had been “a fair que of nannies out there” hoping to join in the fun – conveniently blown away just in time for Mary and Bert’s arrival bringing more party entertainment – plus even more costumed fun with Dawson!

Party-goers took advantage of the wind with some kite flying outside, while inside, Dawson entertained some of Miss Kathy’s Parable Players (click HERE to see Dawson, Kyleigh, Jordan, Madison, and Elena in action onstage last May) with balloon animals – his specialty being balloon penguins.

Once party goers gathered before the “stage” Bert shared a couple of chalk drawings . . .

Transporting the birthday girl, Angel, and her friends, into familiar stories where everyone could participate, such as The Shepherdess Who Cried Wolf . . .

And, The Cat and the Magic Flute – where even Daddy got into the act!

Time for cake!  Yum!!!

Plenty of fun and laughter – indubitably . . .

The party was “practically perfect – with lots of pinks –  in every way!”

  16. I think that it is so wonderful that you dress up in costumes…only a soul full of joy and maybe a bit of quirkiness would revel in so such silliness. I love Mary Poppins and so do my girls…looks like the best birthday party ever…way better than booking a video arcade at the mall like most people do.
Cheers to you Mary Poppins and Bert too!

  17. I only wish that I could have been there in person!! You look so wonderful and I can only imagine how much the audience loved it!! You have got to be such a gift to others as you share your passion of reading and speaking through those things that you read….such talent, Kathy! You are definitely living your gifts!!
