Picking the Pink

Gray days demand a little bit of pink to perk them up!

Been having a month of gray days, it would seem . . .

So, I need to perk them up with a pink treat now and again.

Meditating on God’s Word is always a Pink-Pick-Me-Up!  The Lord pours out Pink in our lives in so many ways – all we have to do is – pick it!

Like the Pink Joy of sharing a fun afternoon last weekend with fellow blogger Jillian from Bella Rosa Antiques on a quickie tour of thrift shopping in our home town while she’s in the area visiting family.  We had to check out the new Hobby Lobby, of course!

Jill was considering a collection of pink boxes that might come in handy . . .

While her sweet Bebe was peeking from behind the biggest Easter Egg she’d ever seen in all its sparkly pink glory!

Then – onto the Thrift Store – one of my favorites in the area.

All sorts of estate and auction stuff – plus some prime consignment.  Jill took way more photos than I did – click HERE to see all the original Snow White memorabilia and other vintage pretties she saw.

For me, though, I couldn’t stop piling up my take on the counter!

Ya know – sometimes you go into a place and there’s just nothing for the taking.  This particular day, though, such treasures at a treat of a price – made me feel pink all over!

Later this past week, I got out my collage art boxes and set up my studio in the living room for a couple of days to work on this month’s Circle Journal.  Jeanne’s theme is “Ha!” – she’s celebrating laughter and “Ha moments” as she calls them – a very pink theme – don’t cha think?

I had fun finding some vintage images of “HAppy!”  My theme for my two page spread was the idea of “A Merry Heart” and I found three great Scriptures from Proverbs to the point.

Cutting and gluing it all together while watching some LOL episodes of “I Love Lucy” was pink, indeed, and shooed the gray away – for a little while.

Gray happens.
Pink is a choice.

So glad I have the Pinks in my life to choose . . .

Picking the Pink this week on Pink Saturday with Beverly at How Sweet the Sound.

 But wait!  Here’s More Pink!

Celebrating all month!

  10. Hello dear Kathy,
My friend, I love your little quote; ‘Gray happens, Pink is a choice!’ Leave it to your poetic soul to come up with that. Didn’t you gals have fun out and about! That is a BIG egg and it’s pink too! Love your creation and the verse from Proverbs is a favourite of mine! I always enjoy visiting you, m’lady. Happy Pinks and see you on Tuesday for tea.

    Blessings,
    Sandi

  11. I loved everything about this quaint little post. But my favorite thing of all was the photo of the “take” on the counter! I laughed right out loud at that! Can’t tell you how many times when I’ve gone looking for treasure that I ended up adding “just this one more little thing” to the pile – only to discover that I maybe should have rented a U-haul for my day’s shopping!

    Looks like a grand time!

    GOD BLESS!

I would love to hear from you--share your thoughts!
