A Little Red, White, and Blue

In celebration of the upcoming Glorious Fourth, I am trading in the Pink this Saturday and opting for a little Red, White, and Blue!

First up – some lovely mini tarts full of fruity patriotism!

Here they all are linked up like good soldiers before heading into the oven for 13 minutes at 350 degrees.  Not from scratch these fellas – but a Wheat and Gluten Free Baking Mix by Pamela’s Products.

Just follow the recipe on the package for the muffins and instead of pouring into a regular muffin ten – spoon into mini muffin tins.  Then, plop a pitted cherry for red, blueberry for blue, and a finger full of white chocolate chips for white.

Ooooooo!  Ahhhhhhh!

Lady Cordelia – in all her patriotic glory – quite approves.

She expects to take them with tea today while enjoying her traditional viewing of “1776” – the movie musical with William Daniels as John Adams using most of the original Broadway cast and recreating the weeks leading up to the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

Check it out on YouTube – DVD, Netflix, or what-all – but DO make it a part of your patriotic holiday traditions if you haven’t already.

Dated though this 1972 trailer may be – Lady Cordelia approves . . .

A Happy Pink Saturday Patriotic Preparation to one and all!
