Off the Grid with the Grand!

As if all my busy wasn’t enough to keep me from reading and writing in Blogland, I found myself packing my bags for a road trip to New England to visit my grandbaby Mackenzie for her 2nd birthday!

I had hoped to personally connect with Dawn at Beneath the Surface: Breath of Faith who only lives less than an hour from where we’d be in Massachusetts, but, alas!  This was not to be.  Why, I even brought my netbook – but, with so much sweetness demanding my attention, I never once took it out of the case and was completely off the internet/computer grid for a whole week!!

Currently, I’m in recovery mode, having returned home to mountains of work and my classes starting in just a week and a half!!  Egad!

But, for now, I am hopping over to Katherine’s Corner to share a Favorite Thing – getting to spend some quality time with my darlin’ girl!

Coloring . . .

Making puzzles . . .

Opening presents . . .

Going to the zoo . . .

Watching VeggieTales . . .

Being silly . . .

Riding bikes . . .

And, trikes . . .

Eating birthday cupcakes . . .

Wading by the lake house . . .

We’re so very thankful to God for all His blessings on this little life that came into the world THREE MONTHS early (she should have been a Thanksgiving baby) weighing just under two pounds.  Two years later, she is thriving and beautiful.  God is so good.

Happy Birthday, Mackenzie!!

  13. Hi Kathryn,
    Your Grand-daughter is beautiful.
I have a 48yr old daughter who was born 3 months early, too, just like Mackenzie.
I’m glad you had a wonderful time with her.
I love that blogging ebbs and flows according to our family priorities.
    God Bless

  14. So sweet and how awesome you were able to spend time with your family. God is SO good! How are you all doing???? Been SO busy here…hope it settles down soon…after Bebe’s 4th birthday! Where does the time go?

  15. Off the grid?? I think an even better prepositional phrase would be over the moon! She is absolutely adorable, and I love that last photo best of all.

I, too, have been “off the grid” for the month or so. My reasons involve family as well, but they were dealing with an unexpected family trial.

God has been our rock and our peace, and we stand on the other side of a sea that only His hand could have parted. I don’t know if He will ever give me a blog voice back, but I wanted to stop by and say HELLO as I dip my toe back in the blog water.

I hope all is well with you and the floodgates are open with the schooling adventure.

  16. Hi Kathy, I’m just popping in to say you are on my mind, and I hope all is well with you and your beautiful family.
