Valentine Tea and Scraps

 Happy Valentine’s Day one and all!

Oops!  Sorry – picked this up online but forget where!

This year I’ve been all over nostalgic with old fashioned Valentine thoughts of handmade messages of love and blessings to dear ones near and far.  In my case – it’s far – New York to Texas to North Carolina and then some!

You see – last year a group of us blogging gals participated in creating a Circle Journal – some pages of which I’ve featured from time to time.

 I admit – a full blown post with photos of the completed project that came back to me after everyone created their scrapbook journal spread has been decidedly tardy.  Working on that!

As thrilled as we all were to get our completed journals back in November – coming into this new year without a scraping project was a bit of a let down.  So, one of the gals suggested we might make Valentines.  Eight of us were game, and the challenge was on!  Valentines were to be created for all participating and mailed out prior to February 14th.  So – I gathered a mess . . .

And, I mean a MESS . . .

Of supplies . . . and started cutting and pasting, toying around with a variety of ideas.  Pinterest was on overdrive with inspiration and I slowly formed a creative plan for my Valentine designs.

It was time for another round of I Love Lucy – hours of which keep me company as I measure, cut, tape, glue, and what-all, on the way to a finished product.

Now, you have to know – a project like this is not complete without tea and treat by my side, ever at the ready to renew energy and clarity of thought when one is overwhelmed with paper roses, tiny snippets, and vintage images of Valentine’s past.  To that end:

You must know I’d have the proper teacup and saucer for the occasion.

Yes – I know – I featured this sweet bright white heart shaped treasure last Valentine’s Day.  Set off by a red charger plate, I’m drinking a healthful cup of Cranberry Pomegranate Tea from Staash Teas.

 I’m enjoying my tea – with a yummy breakfast bread and honey treat.  It’s a simple repast and healthful – with a good helping of golden flaxseed meal in the mix!

So – off to the post office to mail, and then home again to wait for all my Valentines to arrive in my mailbox! And, I do believe . . . another cup of tea is the perfect company for a Valentine vigil . . .

Happy Valentine’s Day!!

“And now abideth faith, hope, charity,
these three;
but the greatest of these is charity.”
