Fare-the-well, Summer, for September is upon us and I am another year older.

Yes – it is birthday month for me and I daresay I have had my fill of birthday celebrations of late! Specifically, that of my grandbaby, Mackenzie Joy who turned three years old this week.
Nana Kathy had the joy of celebrating her big day just one week ago during my New England visit!
I had a great time decorating the dozens of cupcakes my daughter-in-law made for the party.
It was a Veggie-Tales theme and my own daughter, Bethany, was quite the cupcake queen creating such whimsical Bob and Larry and the gang images out of frosting!
Of course, there were a plethora of presents to open . . .
And, a good time was had by all throughout our baby girl’s birthday week. That little flower-bud surely sleep like a top that night after bath-time!
I will have more on my New England trip and a super bakery find in future posts I’m planning!
I hope you will pop over to visit her HERE, and comment, and follow all the fun things she has going at the shop – one of my favorite little places to retreat surrounded by lovely things – and tea!
She’s introducing herself to Pink Saturday with this great little retro pink Hall teapot!
Currently, I am finally sort-of kind-of caught up on my own business now that I’m back home, and am forced to consider my own birthday plans for my special day on September 1st which includes a trip to the bookstore with hubby for my birthday pick. I’m looking at Anne Voskamp and Susan Branch selections.
In addition, my birthday can not come and go without a shout out to Blogland’s own Abby from Little Birdie Blessings as we both share a birthday date – and – a few other things in common, too. You shall have to visit her HERE with a Happy Birthday wish of your own!
On my homefront, I am enjoying a summer long gift from my husband – our front cottage garden that he tends so lovingly for me. It is bursting with lots of pink Zinnias and golden Black-Eyed Susan’s – some of which are returning from last year’s garden, plus some that we planted anew this year.
I just love all the color – so cheerful! I smile and sigh each time I look at it – especially the Knock-out Roses we put in for the first time – just thriving!
And, my Rose of Sharon bushes in the backyard are flourishing in pink . . .
Plus, this lovely white with a deep pink interior!
So, with lots of birthday hoopla behind me for Nana’s sweet little one, I think I’ll be passing my own day a bit more on the quiet side with good books and my daddy taking us to dinner after church.
