Dolly & Me Tea: Part 1

I know spring is here for sure! I’m getting ready this week for the annual Dolly & Me Tea sponsored by our local Woman’s Club of Vineland and can’t be more excited!!

My friend, June, organizes the event and always does a wonderful job. I am the “tea mistress” to keep things moving along nicely with stories and interactive elements to engage the packed room of sweet little girls in tea party attire with their favorite doll or stuffed animal and parent/care-giver. Lots of grandmas are to be expected, along with mommies, for a very special girl’s day out all dressed up!

Recently, June and I needed to pose a publicity shot for the papers.

She brought a few of her own china collection – and the very special little miss dolly pictured above. I just couldn’t resist capturing her lovely teacups and saucers for a tea post! They were all so elegant!

But, I concentrated on my three favorites from Royal Windsor – in Pink, Green and Blue with gold trim!

Plenty of LOVELY and BEAUTY to go around – don’t you agree?

The party is this coming Saturday and I have a new tea dress and hat for the occasion – both found thrifting – coming home with me for about $15 total!

I’m working on embellishing the hat with my own handcrafted Cameo Impressions Floral Frills – here’s the start of it featuring vintage lace and jewelry worked into the design . . .

Next week I’ll share photos from the event itself in Dolly & Me Tea: Part 2!

See you then!

  4. Hello Kathy,
This sounds like so much fun and that dolly is just gorgeous. I love her sweet face. The Royal Windsor teacups are lovely. Not sure which colour I like best. I adore pink and green both but that green really is stunning. Love your hat and frock too. It’s sure to be a fabulous time for all. Thank you for sharing and coming to tea. Hope you had a Blessed Easter celebration.

    Hugs,
    Sandi

  9. Oh Kathy, I so want to attend this event!! I can’t wait to see the photos in Part Two! My sister used to have an annual tea party at her house. She hasn’t done it for a few years, her life got a lot busier as her kids grew up. I miss it. I loved the chance to get dressed up and socialize in *proper fashion*!

So, I’m going to pretend I’m there with you. And actually, I am going to bring my best pal, Snippy – a childhood stuffed elephant that I’ve had since I was 1!! He’ll love to party with all of you!

    GOD BLESS!

  10. Oh, how precious! So much fun – I love it! I am delighted that you shared with A Return to Loveliness,
    Kathy

  11. Hello Kathy,
This tea party is right up my tea doily and your guest doll is such a beautiful doll. I love your new thrift outfit and I can’t wait to see pictures of the event and you all dolled up. I just love lace, and it goes so well with tea. Your Windsor cups are outstanding, smashing photo effects, (secret) love the pink tea cup the best only because it is this time of year for pink. Have a wonderful time at your dolly and me tea.

I would love to hear from you--share your thoughts!
