A Pink Peek!

What fun I’ve had reworking the furnishings in my office to become an office/studio!  I’m not ready for the big REVEAL yet – but – here’s a few “SNEAK PINKS” to give you a little taste of my summer fun thus far:

There’s the handmade chair mat – I sometimes use it on the dining room table as a centerpiece mat for a vase of flowers:

I’ve displayed it here on my velvet Victorian footstool.  It’s from my grandmother’s extensive collection of linens and laces.  More on that later.

Here’s a darling pin cushion mouse with sweet pink flowers assisting him in keeping all my pins in a row:

Note the vintage pattern in the background – more on that later, too.

One of my “Born Again Bears” sits atop a pink hat box on the valet . . .

While a pretty pink bow has some of my other grandmother’s vintage greeting cards all tied up:

She kept every card she ever received since the 1920’s.  I inherited three bins full – and a suitcase!

Zenobia Rose greets visitors as they enter the room with her cheerful pink snout . . .

And, my Byer’s Choice Victorian Lady Painter – Michelle-Angelica – complete with a trio of sweet pink roses in her hat, is finishing up a Landscape of Vineland History – the historic Landis Theatre – the only remaining Art Deco theatre in the state of New Jersey!

Renovated and restored to it’s original 1937 opulence with professional stage upgrades, it now serves our city as a high end Performing Arts Center.  We’re very proud of it here in Vineland – and all the other amazing facts and figures of this planned utopian community that was the dream of founder, Charles K. Landis, in 1861.

That’s where I’ll be this weekend – in period attire – at gallery exhibit receptions, parades, and fireworks!

Extensive and fascinating posts on all the festivities – and the Cake Wars – coming up throughout the weekend, so do come back to visit!

Looking forward to plenty of PINK celebrations in the next 48 hours . . .

  4. Fun Pinks!!!!!!!!!!! I want to see your studio tooooooooooo

  5. Happy Pink Saturday Kathryn Sweetie….
Open, open, open. Oh what a tease you are. I can hardly wait to see your office make over. I know from the slim peaks it is going to be magical.

Love the beautiful handmade chair mat, and what makes it even more special, it is from your Grandmothers collection of linens. How wonderful that is. I too, would have used it in the center of the table. It is so beautiful. Love the colors.

I also adored the package all wrapped in a pink bow, of the cards that your Grandmother so lovingly kept all those years. Isn’t it wonderful, they all meant so much to her. In my mind, I can see reading each one especially and then tucking it with the others, after a time of display, and keeping it there for safe keeping, to take out and read another day.

I can’t decide which one stole my heart more?
Zenobia Rose with her gorgeous PINK snout or Ms Michelle Angelica. She is gorgeous with her little hat and painter’s smock. So detailed and just gorgeous.

I hope you will take lots of photos. I know it will be a magical day. I would so love dressing up in the attire and enjoying. I think in my mind I will go along with. Can’t wait to see what adventures we have.

Have a gorgeous weekend sweet friend. Country hugs and much love, Sherry

Some art, some history, some fun, some whimsy! Have a great weekend~ Carpe Diem 🙂

  7. What a fun greeter is Miss Zenobia Rose!!! Your studio sounds like it will be wonderful. I love anything vintage so your grandmothers cards look lovely tied with a pink ribbon.

  8. Hey Girlfriend!

Still trying to catch up on blogging and visiting after being away last week. Yes, Cape May and the Painted Ladies were gorgeous! I didn’t realize how far south Vineland is. I always picture it to be closer to Mt. Holly.

    Fall’s coming!!!!

  9. Kathy,
All looks so inviting! What a wonderful world your studio will be!
    Blessings, Linnie

  10. Oh how fun!….
And how grand to have your grandmother’s linens and letters.
Both Zenobia Rose and Ms. Angelica make for such delightful company; as well do Mr. Mouse and Bear.
I look forward to seeing the finished reveal.

Wishing you and yours a pinkishly beautiful weekend.

  11. Hi Miss Kathy,
Oh your little preview is wonderful and beautiful. I just know your studio is going to be a place of enchantment. I adore your studio companions too. Ms. Angelica is my favorite as she paints with a trio of roses on her hat.

Thank you for stopping by and good luck in my givewaway.
Have a wonderful weekend and looking forward to your studio when complete.

    XO Celestina Marie

  12. I LOVE the fact your Grandmother saved all of her cards…and even better yet, you have them in your possession!

I too, am looking forward to seeing your pics from this weekends festivities…

  13. I enjoyed seeing all of your pink, Miss Kathy! I can’t wait to see the unveiling of your studio.

  14. You gave me a whole new view of PINK! Love the old cards of your grandmother… what a treasure.

    Blessings, Debbie

  15. I hope the weekend was wonderful and you had fun! I am sucked in with your teaser and want to see more. My favorite part is the stack of your grandmothers’s cards. What a wonderful thing for her to have saved. An aunt of mine did the same thing. When we went through them, we found some wonderful treasures.

  16. Ohhh can’t wait to see the full reveal. Love the hooked mat, what a treasure you got with all your grandmother’s cards. Thanks for sharing these with us. ~ Abby

  17. Oh, I just love peeking!

Hope you had fun on the weekend. I love a girl who likes dressing up!

Zenobia Rose is a doll. She is the perfect greeter! Give her a big hug from me!

OK, now I want to see the whole AFTER picture! Hurry, hurry! (Can you tell that I’m a basket case at Christmas? Peeking and impatience? Not a good combo! HA!)
