Emma Entertains

Something amazing happened in my home last evening that I simply had to share it with you all this week as my Simple Pleasure!

After a very long day at work, I wanted only to cozy up in a corner with hot compresses on my feet and a cup of tea.  Recently, the Tales of Beatrix Potter BBC series I had ordered, arrived, and this would be my first opportunity to view them.  They are a splendid animated series of some of her tales, with live action footage and a cavalcade of BBC drama stars providing the voices.  I expected to be entranced.

What I did NOT expect, was that Emma would be entranced, too.

To be sure, she sat, as you see, for a full hour and a half, watching every twitch of Tom Kitten’s tale and breathless hop of Peter Rabbit as he fled Mr. Macgregor.

She was as enraptured by the live action portions of Beatrix and her animal friends gathered about her writing desk, as she was of the animated portion – and the little butterfly that flitted across the screen on the DVD Main Menu.

Pure delight!  A Simple Pleasure – watching entertaining Emma as Emma is entertained.

Sharing my Simple Pleasure today with Dayle at A Collection of This and That.

  2. Delightful! =) I do love cats. And the things they do…! =)
Your Emma reminds me (in looks) of one we used to have – some ten years ago – whom we called Sunshine.

  3. How adorable is she. I just think this is so cute. I think I may want to view this myself. Hugs, Deb=^..^=x4

  4. This is really funny… to sit for an hour and a half. It looks like she even left her toys by the wayside. Funny!

  5. That is TOO funny! Who would ever believe that. But you’ve got the photos to prove it.

My sister-in-law and brother-in-law have a little maltese, who is similarly interested in other dogs on the TV. And she usually barks at them. My dogs pretty much sleep through all TV.

    Blessings to you,

  6. Kathy,
This is so adorable. I love it…Emma looks captivated by what is on the screen. Thanks for sharing this with us.

  7. That is so cute…….animals really amaze you sometimes what they pay attention to…….Emma

    Blessings, Nellie

  14. Oh Kathy – that is simply precious! She looks so cute.

My sons’ beagle, Marty, never has gotten interested in the stuff on TV. He isn’t even compelled by his image in the mirror. But oh, rip open a string cheese and he’s on you in two seconds flat!!

Don’t you just love our pets??

How’s the first week of school been? I’m noticing that it required hot compresses! Are you doing OK?? 🙂

  15. Katherine…I keep seeing your name on so many of the blogs I follow! I love your pix of your kitty…how fun.

  19. I commented here. I know I did. Wonder where it went? I thought this was such a cute simple pleasure.
