Just an Old-Fashioned Birthday

These days, when someone is having a birthday, we get a notification on Facebook to send them a birthday wish. The recipient is inundated with multitudes of good wishes – simply type and press enter!

There are still those of us who prefer an old-fashioned birthday with visuals, thank you. As for me, I went to my favorite vintage postcard repository at Tuck DB to find just the right PINK wish for our lovely Pink Saturday hostess, Beverly, as we wish her a splendiforous many returns of the day this week.

Trouble was, just one wasn’t enough, and I couldn’t make up my mind what else to send. So, I decided to send a few and let the birthday girl choose her favorite.

First off, I was delighted with this little verse from Shakespeare – very appropriate coming from me, I’d say . . .

Then, of course, I couldn’t pass up this elegant lady in her oh, so, feminine gown with a sentimental birthday wish! Yes, I like to think I look like that . . .

But, a nice hoop skirted dress is lovely, too, as this lady is wearing with a little rhyming verse from a sweet mid-century card . . .

However, when it comes to Beverly and pink – I daresay ROSES are the best of the best for her. Oh! How she loves her roses and shares so many of her choice blossoms with us through the year and in their season.

So, Happy Birthday, Beverly – with plenty of pink roses in bloom to be going on with . . .

I do hope you’ll all weigh in with your pick of the bunch for Beverly in the comments!

Joyous Birthday Greetings, milady, and many more!!
