Pink in the Parable

[Tweet “The outdoor stage was set!”]

Glorious Autumn mums in shades of pink and gold peppered the harvest motif, surrounded by white hydrangeas, deep pink crape myrtle and magnolias. Bales of straw became a staging area for orange and white pumpkins, while the rustic farm-stand towered over all announcing that one had entered the idyllic world of Fable Springs.

To be sure, the white rocking chair and pink spread teatime table made for a cozy invite to the scene, where Miss Kathy took her place for storytime at The Garden Center @ Seper’s Nursery Fall Festival a couple of weeks ago!

As author of Fable Springs Parables, I was on hand, along with my talented young illustrator, Noah Berge, to share the details of our upcoming book publication – the first in this lush picture book series: Mother Chicken’s Eggs: Choosing to Grow into Greater Things.

Noah spent the entire day of the event painting the scene as part of a promotional we were running to engage fans and supporters of our funding effort to finance the book’s production and publication. Names were collected in a basket and at the end of the day – when the painting would be finished – someone would WIN the painting.

But – not before we would have it copied in high resolution for a limited edition series of signed and dated fine art prints available as companion works suitable for framing – a stunning souvenir of the story to compliment any home decor.

The excitement built throughout the day as people watched an artist at work, marveling as she brought the scene to life with her gentle watercolor brush strokes. Here’s a sneak peek at a variation of the finished work:

We have only 5 DAYS LEFT in our funding campaign and need all the help we can get to reach our goals. Part 2 of the campaign will be launched by next Pink Saturday so stay tuned to find out more details on how you can become an Honorary Citizen of Fable Springs!

Beginning November 3, you’ll also be able to PRE-ORDER the full color, hardcover picture book for family reading and quality book discussion – delivered in time for Christmas gift giving! Click here to learn all the details and become a Sponsor/Supporter while those positions are still available:

More limited edition numbered illustrations from the story are being planned – including this evening landscape with all the country living charms one would expect from the nostalgic innocence in the world of Fable Springs Parables
